The total number of voters in the country is 11 crore 90 lakh 61 thousand

The Election Commission has released the draft list of ongoing voter update activities. The draft list was released on Sunday morning (January 15). It can be seen that the total number of voters in the country is 11 crore 90 lakh 61 thousand one hundred and 58. Before the update, the number of voters in the country was 11 crore 32 lakh 87 thousand 10 people. 79 lakh 83 thousand 277 people have been included in the ongoing program. That is, 79 lakh 83 thousand 277 new voters have increased in the country.

Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam told reporters that 22 lakh 9 thousand 129 dead voters have been cut in the update. After deducting the dead voters, the total number of voters in the country recently is 11 crore 90 lakh 61 thousand 158 people. Among them are 6 crore 3 lakh 83 thousand 112 men. 5 crore 86 lakh 77 thousand 209 female voters. Besides, there are 837 Hijra voters.

From May 20 of this year to last November 20, the EC completed data collection and registration at four levels. Publish the updated draft list as per earlier announced time (January 15). It has been publicly posted in various public places, so that if anyone finds any mistakes, the app will get a chance to correct them. In this case, the last time to apply for claims, objections or corrections is January 31.

After the preparation of photo voter list in 2007-2008, the process of updating voter list has been completed five times so far. EC conducted ongoing activities in 2009-2010, 2012-2013, 2015-2016, 2017-2018 and 2019-2020.
