Mirza Fakhrul
- Father's name is Mirza Ruhul Amin and mother Mirza Fatema Amin. During his academic career, Mirza Fakhrul obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Dhaka University. His father Mirza Ruhul Amin was a lawyer.

He was a member of the then East Pakistan Chhatra Union (later Bangladesh Chhatra Union) and was elected General Secretary of the organization's SM Hall branch. He was the president of the organization's Dhaka University branch during the 1969 uprising. Mirza Fakhrul started his career as a teacher. He entered mainstream politics in the 1980s.

In personal life, Mirza Fakhrul is married and father of two daughters. Eldest daughter Mirza Shamaruh studied at Dhaka University and taught there. He is currently working as a post-doctoral fellow in Australia. Younger daughter Mirza Safaruh is teaching in a school after studying at Dhaka University. Secretary General's wife Rahat Ara Begum is serving as a senior officer in a private institution.
