The victims of Bangabazar will get financial assistance before Eid
Bangabazar fire victims will receive financial aid before the upcoming Eid. Dhaka district administration has decided to give Rs 7,500 in cash and food items to each affected person. Dhaka District Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said this during an exchange of views with the Court Reporters Unit (CRU) at the Dhaka District Administration Conference Room on Sunday (April 9).
He said that the list of those affected in Bangabazar is being prepared. About 1,500 people have registered so far. Before the next Eid, food items and 7 and a half thousand taka will be given to the victims. Itinerant hawkers, including those who have shops, will also be given financial assistance. The registration booth will be open till Monday (April 10). If necessary, the period of registration will be extended.
Dhaka District Commissioner Mominur Rahman said, apart from that, those who will provide private assistance are also being coordinated from the district administration. For example, Vidyananda Foundation contacted us today. A victim does not get help repeatedly and reaches everyone at an equal rate. We have the list. Private organizations will help by looking at the list. Besides, the grant given by the Prime Minister according to the list of victims will also be given later.
