The trial of the case against cricketer Nasir Hossain will continue
The court has ordered that the trial of the case against cricketer Nasir Hossain on the charge of marrying another's wife without divorce will continue. A trial has also been ordered against his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi in the same case. However, Nasir's mother-in-law Sumi Akhtar will be exempted from liability in that case.

On Tuesday (February 28), Dhaka's Sixth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Murshid Ahmed rejected the revision and gave this order.
Advocate Ishrat Hasan confirmed the matter.
On that day, Ishrat Hasan, the lawyer of the plaintiff, said that February 28 has been fixed for the order after the hearing of the revision application of the defendant against the order to start the trial of Nasir-Tamima and the order of acquittal of Sumi Akhtar.- On March 6 last year, their lawyer Kazi Najibullah Hiru filed a revision against the order of framing charges against Nasir and Tamima in the Metropolitan Sessions Court. Meanwhile, the plaintiff's lawyer Ishrat Hasan filed a revision against the order to release Sumi Akhter.
- On February 24, 2021, Rakib Hasan, Tammi's husband, filed this case as a plaintiff in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
Earlier, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain ordered to start the trial by filing charges against Nasir and Tamima on February 9 last year (2022). However, Nasir's mother-in-law Sumi Akhter was acquitted from the case.
Then on March 6 of last year, Nasir and Tamima filed a revision against the order of filing a complaint in the Metropolitan Sessions Court.
On February 24, 2021, Tamima's first husband, Rakib Hasan, filed the case as a plaintiff. On that day, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff. After the hearing, he ordered the PBI to investigate the allegations in the case and submit a report.
According to the complaint, Tamima and Rakib got married on February 26, 2011. They also have an eight-year-old daughter. Tamima is a cabin crew by profession. On February 14 this year, Tamima and Nasir Hossain's wedding pictures were spread on social media and it came to Rakib's attention. Later he got to know the details about the incident in the newspaper.
