The state wants the bail of Sohel Rana of Rana Plaza suspended
The state has filed an application seeking suspension of the bail granted to building owner Sohel Rana in the Rana Plaza collapse case in Savar. Advocate on record Sufia Khatun applied to the relevant branch of the Appellate Division on Sunday (April 9).
Assistant Attorney General confirmed the matter. Saiful Alam said that a hearing may be held on this application today in the court of the chamber judge.
Earlier, on April 6, the High Court bench of Justice Akram Hossain Chowdhury and Justice Shahed Nuruddin granted bail to Sohel Rana. The High Court bench of Justice Akram Hossain Chowdhury and Justice Shahed Nooruddin announced the ruling on his bail.
Advocate Kamrul Islam heard the bail application in the court. Advocate Munmun Akhtar was with him.
Later, lawyer Advocate Kamrul Islam said that the High Court granted bail to Sohel Rana, the owner of the building, in the murder case filed in the Rana Plaza collapse and casualties. As a result, there is no obstacle to his release.
The High Court issued a ruling seeking to know why the owner of the building, Sohail Rana, should not be granted bail in the murder case filed in the Rana Plaza collapse and casualties on March 1 last year. The High Court granted bail to Sohail Rana on Thursday with the finality of that rule.
