The entire Chittagong Hill Tracts are resounding with such songs around the Baisabi Festival, the main social and religious festival of the hills of Chittagong Hill Tracts.
The traditional Baisabi festival started in Chittagong Hill Tracts on Wednesday (April 12) by floating flowers in the river. The hills surrounding this festival of life are now colorful. The Baisu Marmads of Tripura are named after Sangrai and the Chakmad Biju festival after the first letter of the name Vaisabi. And today this festival of Barsvaran started in the hills with Biju. In the morning on the occasion of Ganga Devi, flowers in the river are prayed to forget the gloom of the old year and wish for a happy new year.

Colorful arrangements of Baisuk, Sangrai, Biju, Vishu, Bihu are going on in the hills in different colors of the festival. The hill town is now busy with this biggest social event in the hills. The religious ritual of Bai-Sa-B, the main social festival of the hill, started by floating flowers in the water. The mood of the festival is now all over the mountains. The hilly town and village are busy with various events.

Meanwhile, Rangamati District Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman while inaugurating the Baisuk, Sangrai, Biju, Bishu, Bihu celebration committee initiative at Rajban Bihar Ghat said that there was no festival in the hills due to Corona epidemic in the last two years.
He said, seeing so much enthusiasm of people, so much color has touched our hearts. All of us from Rangamati district administration participated in this festival. May all be well, this festival unites us all. We will hold and practice this beauty and diversity of Bangladesh.
At Garjantali, popularly known as the Tripura Palli of the city, the Tripura community also ushered in the Baisuk festival by floating flowers in the Kaptai Lake.
While floating flowers in the water, Shiai Tripura said, I worship Mother Ganga by saying goodbye to Chaitra Sankranti. And I prayed that the new year will be good for us.
Doji Tripura said, on the day of Hari Baisuk float flowers in the Kaptai lake and pray to the creator to wash away all the old sorrows from this world. Another young girl, Khaimai Tripura, said that today, the prayer to Mother Ganga was to prevent the unwanted communal incidents that have happened in Bangladesh at this time.
Tomorrow is Wednesday, the main day of the festival, known as Mool Biju. On that day, all the young and old will go from house to house in groups. Enchanted with the taste of panchan and dochowani, the joy of the festival will spread beyond all borders. And the melody of the mountain song will be played.
