University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the admission of new students in all programs of 4 private universities of the country. The universities are Prime Asia University, Stamford University Bangladesh, Prathanna University and Victoria University.

Thursday (January 19) director of public relations and information rights department of UGC. This information is stated in the notification sent by Shamsul Arefin. According to the public notification, 18 private universities of the country have become unable to transfer their activities to permanent campuses within the stipulated time frame. Meanwhile, the transfer of all activities to the permanent campus and no visible steps in the construction of the campus have been taken within the stipulated time frame. And the admission of new students will be stopped in the temporary campus except the permanent campus of State University of Bangladesh and Manarat International University. However, the programs conducted at the permanent campuses of these two universities will continue.


The notification has given time till March this year to shift the entire academic program to the six universities on the permanent campus. They are Royal University, Dhaka International University, Southeast University, The Millennium University, City University and Bangladesh University. And six universities have been given time till June this year. They are University of Development Alternative, BRAC University, Green University, Presidency University, Uttara University and The People's University.

It is mentioned in the public notice that temporary campuses will be illegal if these universities cannot move to permanent campuses within the stipulated period. And in case of failure to complete transfer including education program to the permanent campus within the stipulated period, the admission of new students in all the programs of the concerned university will be stopped. At the same time, all temporary campuses or buildings except private permanent campuses of the University will be considered illegal.
