Sohan punished in BPL, Haris warned
Rangpur Riders captain Nurul Hasan Sohan faces punishment for violating the code of conduct in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf of Rangpur has been warned along with Sohan. Sohan was punished for the second time.
Sohan was fined 30 percent of his match fee for breaching BCB code of conduct label 1 against Sylhet Strikers yesterday. Added two demerit points. Rauf was not fined but 1 demerit point was added to his name.
Controversy over Rabiul Haque's last over. Sylhet's Rezaur Rahman Raja, who was batting, was warned by the umpire after giving three consecutive bounces. Then the umpire called no ball as it bounced again. Then Sohan got into an argument with the umpire, Rauf also joined.
Both expressed dissatisfaction against the umpire's decision as per Article 2.8 of the Code of Conduct. Earlier, 1 demerit point along with 15 percent of the match fee was added to Sohan's name for breaking the code of conduct against Fortune Barisal.
This time, this wicket-keeper batsman has received twice his punishment. This is Rauf's first demerit. A total of three demerit points have been added to Sohan's name. If it is another, you will be banned for 1 match.
Two field umpires Gazi Sohail and Prageet Rambukvela, third umpire Tanveer Ahmed and fourth umpire Ali Arman Rajan brought charges against them. Match referee Devabrata Pal announced the penalty. A formal hearing was not required as they pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence.
