Shakib Pathantuli, son of Mohammad Ali, a resident of Korban Ali's house in West Madarbari Yugichand Mosque Lane area, is a 10th class student of Pathantuli City Corporation Big Boy School.
According to his mother's JSC examination certificate, the son's age is 17 years and 6 months. But in the police case, his age is shown as 19 years.
The student's mother says that her daughter is not involved in politics. On January 16, he went to the stadium area to buy cricket jerseys and fell into the clash. As he ran to save himself, the police grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. The family said that Shakib, the youngest of the five siblings, also works at Bhai Bhai Pharmacy in the area for a monthly salary of Tk 6,000 to support his education expenses.
According to the mother, Pola introduced herself as a school student but the policemen did not listen. After receiving the message of his arrest, I waited at the Kotwali police station until late that night and could not explain it. The son was sent to jail after being arrested in the police case. I want release of my son, withdrawal of false case.
Sameeran Barua, teacher of Pathantuli City Corporation High School for Boys, said, 'Sakib Ali is studying in class 10 in our school. He doesn't do politics. Even if he is detained, he should be released'.

Advocate Erfanur Rahman said in Shakib's court that Shakib's age has been shown in the statement of the police case. He was not involved in the collision. A lawyer will apply for bail on his behalf.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Zahidul Kabir said that the student was arrested by the police from the spot. If a student is involved in a crime, can he not be made an accused person in the case? Initially, the boy appeared to be 19 years old, the affidavit said. If under 18 years of age, arrangements will be made in accordance with the Minors Act after investigation.
