As a result of various measures taken by the government, the remittance flow has returned to a positive trend. In the first 10 days of this February, 643 million dollars remittances have come. Which is a daily average of 6 crore 43 lakh dollars or more than 688 crore rupees. If this trend continues, remittances will exceed $1.8 billion in 28 days in February. The statistics department of Bangladesh Bank released this information on Sunday (February 12).

On Saturday (January 28), Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Majbaul Haque informed this information.

According to the data of the Central Bank, 153 billion dollar remittances have arrived in the country from January 1 to January 24 of this month. On an average, remittances of 6.37 million dollars have arrived every day. And the highest remittance of the month in one day came on 24 January. On that day, expatriates sent remittances of 7 million dollars.

According to the data, in the two months of July and August of the current financial year, the expatriate income came to 209 million 63 million dollars and 203 million 69 million dollars respectively. After that, the income of expatriates in the banking channel started to decrease. In the two months of September and October, expatriate income is 152 million 96 million dollars and 152 million 55 million dollars respectively. Since then the expatriate income has been increasing.

Bangladesh is under pressure in foreign transactions since the last financial year as the income of expatriates has also decreased due to the global situation due to the dollar crisis. The financial year 2021-22 ended on a negative trend. 15.12 percent remittances came less than the previous financial year. However, in the first month of the current financial year 2022-23, there was a 12 percent growth in July. In the second month also there is an equal growth. But it starts decreasing in September and October. However, in November and December, the remittance flow started to turn positive again. That trend still continues.
