Professor Taher Kill: The accused's hanging is not interrupted

The Appellate Bench of Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui passed the order on Thursday (March 2). State lawyer Attorney General AM Amin Uddin confirmed the information to the media.
Earlier, on February 26, the Appellate Division's verdict ended on the review of the accused's petition. After the hearing, the court fixed March 2 for the order.
According to the details of the case, the body of Professor Taher, professor of geology and mining of Rajshahi University, was recovered from the manhole of the University Quarter on February 7. Then, on February 7, the deceased's son Sanjid Alvi Ahmed filed a murder case at Motihar police station in Rajshahi city.
Police filed a charge sheet on March 7, accusing six people in the case. After the trial of the case, on May 22, the four persons were hanged and the Rajshahi's speedy trial court dismissed the two.
The convicts are- Associate Professor of the same department. Mia Mohammad Mohiuddin, the deceased professor. Taher's house caretaker said. Jahangir Alam, Jahangir Alam's brother Nazmul Alam and Nazmul Alam's wife's elder brother Abdus Salam.
The accused appealed after the judicial court verdict. After the hearing, on April 27, the High Court sentenced the two accused Mohiuddin and Jahangir Alam to life imprisonment by reducing the sentence of the other two accused. The accused then appealed to the Appellate Division. On the other hand, the state appealed to increase the punishment of the two accused. After the hearing, on April 7 last year, the Appellate Division upheld the High Court Division. A full copy of the Appellate Division verdict was published on September 7 of that year. The accused then applied for reviews. The hearing on the review began on February 7.
