Notre Dame College Leading the Way in Quality Education: Speaker
Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said, Notre Dame College is a milestone in the development of education in Bangladesh. The college has been leading the way in quality education in Bangladesh for 74 years. Students are crossing the borders of the country and shining light on Bangladesh at the international level.
He said these things while appearing as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the '74th Anniversary Reunion Festival' organized by the Notre Dame College Alumni Association on Saturday (January 28) at the Notre Dame College premises. At this time, he announced the auspicious opening of the Notre Dame College '74th Anniversary Reunion Festival'.
Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastgir Gazi, Veerpratik MP and Notre Dame College Governing Body Chairman Archbishop Vijay ND Cruz spoke as special guests on the occasion. National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mashiur Rahman.
At the beginning of the program, a minute's silence was observed to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War and the late Notre Dames. Principal of Notre Dame College Hemant Pius Rosario delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Biplab Kumar Deb, convenor of the program committee thanked.
The speaker said that educational institutions are centers of knowledge acquisition and knowledge practice. The teachers of the college prepare the students to international standards through relentless hard work. At this time, he expressed hope that the tradition and glory of the college will continue with the cooperation of Notre Dame College Alumni.
Mentioning that the youth will lead the establishment of Smart Bangladesh, the speaker said that the present government is working relentlessly for the development of economic, social and skilled human resources. At this time, he urged everyone to work together to face all challenges including climate change, cyber security, migration.
Shireen Sharmin urged Notre Dame College Alumni to organize scholarships for higher education of meritorious students from backward, disadvantaged and backward communities of the country.
