Iranian director Zafar Panahi is finally out on bail

Iranian film director Zafar Panahi finally got bail after starting a hunger strike in prison. He was arrested in July last year.

US-based human rights

• US-based human rights organization Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) tweeted confirming the release of Zafar Panahi. This information was given in a report of the British media BBC.
  Panahi was imprisoned in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison. In a statement from there, he said, "Maybe my lifeless body will be released from prison, but I will not waver from this decision."
  Two other filmmakers, Mostafa Al-Ahmed and Mohammed Rasulf, were arrested before Panahi was arrested in July. Panahi went to the jail to inquire about their case. He was arrested there.
• Iran's Supreme Court then ordered his release in October. But still he was detained.

Two films in Iran

• 62-year-old Zafar Panahi strongly criticized the detention of two filmmakers in Iran in July last year. Later, while inquiring about their release, he himself was arrested.
