- US-based human rights organization Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) tweeted confirming the release of Zafar Panahi. This information was given in a report of the British media BBC.
Panahi was imprisoned in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison. In a statement from there, he said, "Maybe my lifeless body will be released from prison, but I will not waver from this decision."
Two other filmmakers, Mostafa Al-Ahmed and Mohammed Rasulf, were arrested before Panahi was arrested in July. Panahi went to the jail to inquire about their case. He was arrested there. - Iran's Supreme Court then ordered his release in October. But still he was detained.
