Bandarban: Locals are living in fear after shelling and setting fire to the Rohingya camp at Zero Point on the Tumbru border in Bandarban. More than 4 thousand Rohingyas lived in 530 rooms on that border. The Rohingyas living there have taken shelter in nearby villages to save their lives. Many are living a subhuman existence in the foothills of the open sky.

Since the incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have stepped up their vigil in Ghumdhum, Tumbru, Baisharifari, Konarpara, Madhyampara areas of the border. Dil Mohammad, leader of the Rohingya community, said that several Rohingyas fled to Myanmar after the shelling and arson on Wednesday. Everyone panicked at the sudden excitement.

Ghumdhum UP Chairman. Jahangir Aziz said, on Wednesday (January 18) afternoon, the huts of the Rohingyas living in the Zero Line were burnt by the terrorists. At this time, many Rohingya including women and children took shelter in Ghumdhum Union Parishad of Naikshyongchari. Later they were taken from that place to Tumbru Government Primary School. BGB, RAB and police have strict surveillance in the area.

Bandarban's Naikxyongchari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Romen Sharma said, the border environment has suddenly become turbulent. Most of the Rohingya's houses have been burnt to ashes. But it is not yet known what the number will be. BGB controls the entire border issue. Only he can provide accurate information in this regard. After the incident we informed the higher authority and the cabinet department and home ministry. According to the UNO, it is said that the work will be done according to the further instructions.

On the afternoon of January 18, there was a clash between the members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), two separatist organizations that mainly dominate the Rohingya camp area of ​​Ward No. 2 of Ghumdhum Union.

Meanwhile, two Rohingya citizens named Hamidullah (27) and Mohibullah (25) who were shot were rescued and taken to MSF Hospital in Cox's Bazar, Ukhiyar, where doctors declared Hamidullah dead.  

Later, Mohibullah was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for nutritional treatment. Meanwhile, the miscreants set fire to the Rohingya camp immediately after the incident. Fearing for their lives, many Rohingya citizens left the camp and fled to the surrounding areas.
