Three people, including a father and daughter, were killed when a Star Line bus from Gopalganj to Dhaka ran over at Bhanga police station in Faridpur.

The accident happened on Sunday (January 22) around 12:30 noon in Munsurabad area of the upazila.
The deceased are-
Mayin Uddin Sheikh (35), son of Baki Sheikh of Dharmadi area of Nagarkanda police station of the district, his daughter Tabassum (10) and Pola Saurabh Matubbar (16) of Miraj Matubbar of Mazhardia area of Bhanga police station. All three of them were motorcycle riders.
After this incident, the angry people of the area blocked the road and set fire to the bus. On receiving information, Bhanga police station and highway police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The Additional Superintendent of Police (Banga Circle) of Faridpur confirmed the fact of the road accident.
He said that a bus going from Gopalganj to Dhaka hit a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the Munsurabad area of the upazila. Moin Uddin and Sourav Matubbar died on the spot. A child named Tabassum was rescued and taken to a local hospital where he too died.
He further said that after the incident, the locals protested by blocking the road and set fire to the bus. Later, the police reached the spot and calmed down the situation.
