Dr. Zafrullah's posthumous body donation decision today
Dr. Vir Muktijodha, the founder of Gonoshasthaya Kendra. Zafrullah Chowdhury continued to sacrifice himself for the country all his life. His wish was that if the liver, cornea are useful to another person, then they should be donated to the people.
But due to old age, these are not scientifically usable by anyone else. It will be of no use without medical practice alone. Meanwhile, Dr. Most of Zafrullah's family members who decide to donate his body want to bury him in Savar. However, the family will agree on a decision today (April 13).
On Wednesday (April 12), Professor Mohammad Shawkat Ali of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department of Public Health Center said these things to Banglanews.
He said, Dr. The issue of Zafrullah's body donation is actually not that much of a controversy. Two decisions came from his wife and siblings. One is body donation and the other is savar burial. But we have talked and found that the majority agreed to bury in Savar. The discussion between them (all the family decision makers) on this issue is not over yet. That discussion is still ongoing. Will let us know by Thursday. But what will be decided is not against anyone's opinion. All must agree.
He also said, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury wanted that if his liver, cornea are of any use then they should be donated to people. However, at his age, these organs are not in a condition to be used by other people or are not scientifically acceptable. But he expressed optimism if it can be used.
Professor Mohammad Shawkat Ali said, however, another issue is whether his body can be used in medical practice. And if it is useful then it will take time till Thursday to decide whether it will be beneficial. Because the matter is mainly looked after by the anatomy department.
By the way, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury's first funeral will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan on Thursday (April 13) at 2.30 pm. Before this, from 10 am to 1 pm in the central Shaheed Minar Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury's body will be kept for people from all walks of life to pay their respects. A state tribute will be paid at the same place.
Tributes will be held at Savar Public Health Center on Friday (April 14) at 10 am. A second Janaza was held there after Friday
