Desham will be the coach of France in the 2026 World Cup

The French Football Federation has confirmed Desham's contract renewal in an official statement on Saturday. According to the agreement, France's World Cup-winning coach will serve the national team until June 2026; The World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

After the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the name of Zinedine Zidane was being pronounced quite strongly as the next coach of the French national team. But for now, France's World Cup-winning captain is not seen in this role.

After taking charge on June 9, 2012, Deschamps has been in charge of France for almost 14 years. Under him, the French won the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Then they became the runners-up of the 2022 World Cup. Besides, under him, France also won the 2021 UEFA Nations League title by defeating Spain. 

Because Didier Deschamps will be the coach of the French in the next World Cup as well.
