BNP rally is going on in Nayapaltan

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is holding a rally in Nayapaltan for her unconditional demand on completion of two years of her imprisonment. The rally started in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan on Saturday (February 8) at 2:30 pm.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presided over the meeting as the chief guest, BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain.

Earlier, BNP made a rally stage on the road in front of the central office in Nayapaltan by placing three side by side. As the day progressed, the entire area became active with the presence of activists. The Nayapaltan area of the party office is full of slogans holding placards with various demands demanding the release of Begum Zia.

On February 8, 2018, Begum Zia went to jail after being convicted in a corruption case. The BNP leader is undergoing treatment at BSMMU hospital for the last ten months. There are 36 cases against Begum Zia. He is on bail in 34 cases. To get acquitted, he will have to take bail in the Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust corruption cases.

After her imprisonment, the party announced the release of Begum Zia through agitation and legal means, but the party could not implement it. It remains to be seen what the BNP leaders will announce in today's meeting after two years.
