Attack on Sonu Nigam during live concert

A man has finally been arrested in connection with the attack on the singer during Sonu Nigam's concert on Monday. A man has been booked by the Mumbai Police for voluntarily causing hurt. The attack took place during the singer's live concert in Chembur.

  A case has been registered under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety) of the IPC based on the complaint of singer Sonu Nigam, police said. After the incident, singer Sonu Nigam reached the Chembur police station and lodged a complaint. Requested the police to file a case in this regard. In his statement, the singer mentioned the MLA's son by name and accused him of attacking his team.

Sonu said he was approached by the Chembur Festival for a live concert performance. As per the decision, he reached Chembur Gymkhana with his team around 7 pm on 20 February for the live concert. The event lasted till about 10 pm and ended on time.

After the show ended, when we were all coming off the stage including my colleagues Hariprakash, Rabbani Khan, Saira Makani, suddenly a boy came from behind and grabbed me. Then when Hariprakash tries to move the boy away, the boy pushes Hariprakashji and throws him. In anger, the boy pushed me too. I also fell on the stairs", said Sonu.
