We will defeat everyone: Zelensky

Reuters reported this information in a report on Friday (February 24). Meanwhile, world leaders are poised to impose new sanctions against Russia and countries that support its war effort.
According to reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a video message on Friday to mark the one-year anniversary of the ongoing war. There he said, 'We are strong. We are ready for anything. We will defeat everyone.'
Zelensky described 2022 as a year of tolerance, courage, pain and unity. He said, 'The main conclusion is that we have survived. We are not defeated. And we will do everything to win this year.'
There is currently a war going on in the east and south of Ukraine. And it's at this time that allies around the world show their support for Ukraine on the first anniversary of Russia's invasion. France lights up the Eiffel Tower in Paris in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag.
On the other hand, many people in London held a banner in front of the Ukrainian flag. It read, 'If you stand for freedom, stand for Ukraine.'
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said in a speech, "There will be a life after this war, because Ukraine will win (against Russia)."
The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday adopted a resolution demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine and an end to the fighting.
In that proposal, it is said that a lasting peace should be established in Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter. 141 countries voted in favor of the proposal. Seven countries voted against. 32 countries including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan abstained from voting.
Russia launched its first attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Exactly one year later, the United Nations voted on this proposal. Most countries in Europe and America voted in favor of the proposal.
Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Mali, Eritrea and Nicaragua opposed the resolution. Notable among the 32 countries that abstained are India, Pakistan, China, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and most of Africa. Besides, several Central Asian countries also abstained from voting.
Russia's deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, dismissed the UN move as 'useless'.
Ukraine's military has reported increased Russian activity in the east and south. As the first anniversary of the Russian invasion approaches, at least 25 northern towns and villages along the Russian border have come under shelling.
Reuters, however, was unable to verify the authenticity of these reports from the battlefield. Russia now controls about one-fifth of Ukraine.
