About 1,300 ISIL (IS) fighters are believed to be held in a prison in the Syrian town of Rajo, near the Turkish border, of about 2,000 inmates. News from Arab News and Al Jazeera.
The military police prison in the town of Rajo, near the Turkish border, holds about 2,000 prisoners, including about 1,300 IS militants, AFP reported. The prison also reportedly houses fighters from the Kurdish-led forces.

Rajo Jail official said some walls and doors of the jail were cracked after the earthquake hit. At the same time, the prisoners started a revolt and took control of parts of the prison. Around 20 prisoners, believed to be IS militants, escaped on this occasion.
The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Turkey is rising by leaps and bounds. 4 thousand 365 deaths have been reported in Turkey and Syria so far. Among them, 2 thousand 921 people died in Turkey. And 1 thousand 444 deaths have been reported in Syria. More than 17 thousand people were injured in the two countries.
The death toll in Turkey rose from 2,379 to 2,921 in a few hours, Anadolu Agency reported, citing Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority.
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that 14,482 people were injured and 7,840 people were rescued in 10 provinces of Turkey. About 3 lakh 38 thousand people have taken shelter in university dormitories and other places.
