The G-20 summit ended without consensus due to Russia-China obstruction
The G20, the world's top 20 economies, could not reach a consensus to condemn Russia's aggression in Ukraine. A joint statement was not issued by the organization as China and Russia refused to sign a joint statement.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of India in the city of Bangalore on Saturday. India was not interested in raising the issue of war in the meeting. But Western countries insisted. But in the end, there was no benefit to the insistence of the West.
The lack of consensus among G-20 members meant that the meeting's summary and outcome documents were issued under the chairmanship of India. So that only summaries and disagreements of the two days' discussions are noted.
According to the summary, most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and emphasized that it was causing humanitarian suffering and exacerbating the fragility of the global economy. This has exacerbated supply chain disruptions, risks to financial stability and continued energy and food insecurity. According to: Al Jazeera news
