The Tigers went into bat today (April 5) in the second day of the one-off Test against the Irish at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The hosts started the day's play with 34 runs for 2 wickets after losing Muminul Haque early in the morning.

However, in the face of that pressure, captain Shakib Al Hasan counterattacked with Mushfiqur Rahim. The pair completed 50 runs in just 53 balls. However, Shakib is playing relatively more aggressively than Mushfiqur. Shakib also hit two consecutive four-ball boundaries while bringing up his 31st career half-century.

Throughout his innings, he decorated the Irish bowlers with one ball after another. 136/3 in 30 overs at the time of writing this report. Shakib is batting with 60 and Mushfiqur 33 runs.
