Organized rape of a college student in Natore, death penalty for that person
The court sentenced six people to death and four to life in prison for abducting and raping a college student in the Singra Upjila in Natore। At this time everyone is fined for one lakh rupees।
Judge Muhammad Abdur Rahim of the Natore Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal delivered the verdict on Wednesday, April 11, at 11:30 p.m। The death row inmates are Najmul Haq, Razibul Islam, Rezounul Islam, Mohammad Ripon, Md. Shahidul and Sabbir Hossain।
The lifebloods are Ataul Islam, Rezaul Karim, Monirul Islam and Khairul Islam।
According to court sources, on October 19, 2012, Sabbir Hossain, son of Mustafizur Rahman of Dhanaidah village in the same area, was abducted by a student of Rajshahi Government Women's College in Baraigram area of Natore। The next day, the accused took her to Petrobangla in Sinra and later to Kalam and organized rape।
The special public prosecutor of the court ( SPP ) Advocate Anisur Rahman said that a case was filed in the Singra police station। The court ruled on Wednesday afternoon after nearly 10 years of investigation and evidence। The court also acquitted Nasir Hossain of not being involved in the incident।
