Jubo League worker hacked to death in Nalchiti
Miscreants hacked a Jubo League worker to death in Nalchiti Upazila of Jhalkathi.
On Thursday (April 6), Nalchiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataul Ataur Rahman confirmed this information. The incident took place on Wednesday (April 5) at 10 pm at High School Road in the city.
The deceased was identified as Tariqul Islam Sumon alias Kanpacha Sumon (35), son of Amjed Hossain of Nandikathi area. He is known as a Jubo League activist.
It is known that the miscreants ran away after cutting Sumon on High School Road at 10 o'clock on Wednesday night. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Nalchiti Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead. At that time, after receiving the information, the police visited the scene and the hospital and recovered the body.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataul Ataur Rahman said that Sumon may have been killed due to past enmity. The police are starting work to identify the cause of the murder and those involved.
