In the new curriculum, classes are 5 days a week, 2 days off: Education Minister
The education minister said, 'Every Friday and Saturday is a public holiday. Only Fridays were holidays in educational institutions. But due to the global situation, keeping in mind the saving of electricity and energy, the issue of declaring two days holiday in a week in educational institutions came into discussion.
On August 22 of last year, it was decided to make two days of weekly holiday in all educational institutions of the country to save electricity. Later it is effective.'
When asked whether this rule will be in the new curriculum, Dr. Dipu Moni said, 'Educational institutions will be closed two days a week even in the new curriculum. This is a policy decision of the Prime Minister. Moreover, the same rules are in force in international standards.'
The education minister said, 'From now on, the education program will continue five days a week. It will be closed for two days. However, even though such an announcement was made last year due to the power crisis, it will continue to operate from now on. There is nothing new to talk about this.' Dr. said that there is no shortage of teachers in the country. Dipu Moni said, "There is a shortage of some teachers due to retirement, but there is no shortage of teachers in educational institutions."
Regarding the shortage of teachers in the technical board, the minister said, 'No teacher has been appointed in the technical department for 10 years. All the teachers have been appointed in the last four years. Some posts are always vacant, they are filled again. Now there is no shortage of teachers in the technical department.'
