In March, remittances came in at $201 million
In the last 7 months, the highest remittance came in March, in this month 201 million 77 million dollars remittances were sent to the country by expatriates.
In local currency (107 taka per dollar) which amounts to taka 21 thousand 589 crores. Which is the highest in the last seven months. Before this, expatriates sent remittances of 203 crores (2.03 billion) dollars last August.
This information was revealed in the report published by the central bank on Sunday. More remittances came in this month due to Ramadan family spending and Eid shopping.
According to the data of the Central Bank, 201.77 million dollars of remittances came in legal channels in the month of March. 45 million 72 million dollars more than the month of February came last month. In February, remittances came in at 1.56 billion 1.2 million dollars.
In addition, remittances have increased by 8.49 percent or 15.8 million dollars compared to March of the previous year (2022). In March last year, expatriate income was 185 million 97 million dollars.
