Protest by locking the gate
Students are protesting the attack on the students of Rajshahi University in the campus. At 10:30 a.m. at the call of Abdul Majid Antar, the leader of Raksu Andolan stage, Shahid Dr. Abdul Majeed Antar said that the protest procession started from Joha Square and went around the various roads of the campus and met again in a peaceful assembly at the same place.
They started the protest by locking the gate around 10 am on Sunday. On this day, the students started protesting in front of Syed Nazrul Islam administration building of the university. At this time, students from different halls of the university joined the protest.
Angry students said, "Hundreds of our brothers are injured and have medical admission. But the university administration is playing a silent role. We have seen a lot of the sleepy face of the administration. In yesterday's incident, we did not get anyone from the administration.
At this time, the students demanded the resignation of the proctor. They also threatened to continue the movement by surrounding the residence of the vice-chancellor after the administration building.
Meanwhile, a large number of additional police have been deployed across the university campus to deal with any untoward situation. Apart from this, intelligence activities in white clothes have also been increased in the campus. On the other hand, the situation is prevailing in Binodpur, the scene of clashes between locals and Rajshahi University students last night.
In the meantime, on Sunday morning (March 12), the affected local small traders were seen sitting in despair next to the burnt shops. Besides, traffic has been stopped on the Rajshahi-Natore highway from Talaimari to Chauddpai in the city since the clash. The police have stopped the movement of all types of bicycles and rickshaws.
