Election system should be made free, fair and impartial: GM Kader
Deputy leader of opposition in Jatiya Sangsad GM Quader said that among the objectives of Bangladesh's liberation war, the main objectives were to end discrimination among people, to establish democracy, to ensure the rights of the common people, etc. I got independence from Pakistan 50 years ago to achieve these objectives. But I think, even after 50 years of independence, it has not been fully achieved.
Jatiya Party wants free, fair and impartial elections, Chairman of the party and Deputy Leader of Opposition Golam Mohammad Quader said.
He said that accountability in the society is ensured only if there is an acceptable election. A republic in the state succeeds only when accountability is ensured. Because the people own the state. They will elect representatives of their choice to govern the country; If you act against the will of the people, you can change the representative through elections.
He said these things at an exchange meeting organized by the Banani office of Jatiya Party Chairman, Dhaka Metropolitan North on Sunday (February 5) afternoon.
GM Quader said that to ensure good governance in the country, rule of law and justice based social system should be established. Discrimination should be eliminated. Our great freedom struggle was held in the anti-discrimination movement. Therefore, discrimination is against the spirit of freedom.
Pointing out that inequality is increasing day by day in the country, GM Quader said that a group of people are not able to eat three meals a day. Due to lack of money, the child cannot be treated. Another group is owning thousands of crores of rupees. They are smuggling country's money abroad.
Senior A Zapa leader claimed that due to the increase in the price of goods, there has been an outcry among the common people and said that the price of imported goods is increasing due to the increase in the price of the dollar. Again, due to the foreign exchange crisis, the opening of LCs is hindering the import of essential products. Therefore, less products are being imported into the country than the demand. That is why there is no necessary product in the market. This is why the prices of daily commodities are increasing. Factories are closing again due to raw material import crisis. Unemployment numbers are increasing every day.
Presidium members Sahidur Rahman Tepa, Mir Abdus Sabur Asud, Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Mostafa Al Mahmud, Zahirul Islam Zahir and others spoke at the meeting under the chairmanship of Jatiya Party Dhaka Metropolitan North President Shafiqul Islam Sentu and moderated by Member Secretary Jahangir Alam Pathan.
