Out of this, 2.5 million children aged 6-11 months, 1.95 million children aged 12-59 months and 2.2 million children aged 6-59 months will be given vitamin A capsules.
He said this at a press conference organized on the occasion of the celebration of the National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign at the meeting room of the Ministry of Health of the Secretariat on Sunday (February 19) at noon.
Vitamin A Capsules
- The health minister said that the present government has been continuing to give vitamin 'A' capsules twice a year regularly since 2010. As a result, the number of children suffering from night blindness due to lack of vitamin A is almost 4 percent.
The Health Minister said that 240 thousand volunteers will work in 120 thousand centers. 40 thousand health workers will participate in it. By feeding vitamin 'A' capsules, blindness of the child is prevented, normal growth of the body is ensured. Also, the 'A' capsule reduces the rate of all types of deaths by 24 percent. Deaths due to measles, diarrhea and pneumonia also decreased significantly.
He said, vitamin A reduces blindness, mortality in children. will protect children. The health minister requested to bring the children to the vaccination center with a full stomach.
