20 including 17 militants were arrested in RAB's operation in the hills
RAB announced the arrest of 17 members of the militant organization Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya and three members of the hill separatist Bam Party (KNF) after the day-long raid in the remote hills of Thanchi Upazila in Bandarban.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB's law and media wing, confirmed the matter at 8:30 pm on Tuesday. He said that the operation started from 5 am on Tuesday and ended at 6:30 pm.
At this time 20 people were arrested. He said that militants and KNF members of Hindal fired at RAB throughout the day. 9 members of RAB were injured during the firing. The injured were treated at Bandarban Sadar Hospital. Details will be announced through a press conference on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, RAB Director General M Khurshid Hossain told a press conference at the Tama Tangi tourist spot on the Thanchi-Likri border road at 3 pm on Tuesday that a team of KNF and Sharkkiya took a position at the bridge area of Remakri canal, 27 km from the Thanchi upazila headquarters, on Monday.
After learning about the matter on the basis of intelligence information, RAB and the army launched an operation there early in the morning. During the operation, the KNF and Sharqiya militants opened fire and the army and RAB personnel fired back.
After that, the shooting stopped. Nine RAB members were injured. They were sent to Bandarban with first aid. He said that the operation will continue until this militant is eliminated.
He said that RAB's plan was to fire at a point when the militants run out of fire. We will then be able to arrest them intact.
