The press release also said, 'These incentives are given in three steps or categories. 1.5 lakh farmers are being given free two kg of paddy seeds under an incentive of around Rs 82 crore to increase the production of hybrid paddy. 1.2 lakh farmers benefited under the incentive of about 73 crores for increasing the production of high-yielding varieties. In this, a farmer is getting 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer required for cultivation in one bigha of land for free.

Besides, an incentive of Rs 15 crore is being given for planting and harvesting rice at the same time in a field to facilitate the use of agricultural machinery. Under this, 110 blocks or exhibitions will be set up in 61 districts. Each exhibition will be on 50 acres of land, the cost will be 13 lakh 70 thousand taka.

This incentive is being provided from the agriculture rehabilitation support sector regularly allocated by the Ministry of Agriculture. These incentives are ongoing in the field. Already, on an average, about 50 percent of the incentives have been disbursed.
