Those who do not respect the history of Baisakh celebrations must be resisted: Obaidul Quader
Communal consciousness has sprouted under the leadership of BNP, they will be overthrown under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that those who do not respect history, prefer communal ideology, biracialism should be resisted.
He said these things in a discussion meeting of Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League in front of Bahadur Park in the capital on Friday morning on the occasion of New Year 1430 Bangabd.
Obaidul Quader said, they (BNP) believe in communalism, their ideology is to oppose binationalism and independence of Bangladesh. By defeating this evil communal power, Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bengal will move forward. We hold Bengali and Bengali consciousness.
The bridge minister said that the Awami League was there before and still exists with the history and tradition of Bangladesh including Paila Boishakh. We are not interested in who observed it or not, we will observe it.
He said that Baishakh will be celebrated as long as there is Awami League. Boishakh is a day of expressing self-identity, on the other hand a day of expressing non-communal spirit. Bengalis are celebrating Paila Boishakh in a festive atmosphere. The address of Bengali spirit history and tradition is Poila Boishakh.
He also said that Sheikh Hasina is moving ahead with challenging decisions to deal with all the crises including the world economic crisis.
