UAE-based renowned businessman Delwar Ahmed K has been awarded the Commercially Important Person (CIP) honor in the Bangladeshi category in the 2020 Legitimate Channel Foreign Exchange Earner category.

They were given this honor at a function organized on the occasion of International Migrants Day 2020 held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Saturday, December 18.

International Migrants Day is today. 18 December every year to ensure the dignity and rights of migrants and their families worldwide 

The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment has taken the initiative to celebrate 'International Immigrant Day' with due importance like every year. The day is being celebrated with various events involving all stakeholders related to immigration.

The main and national program of this year's International Migrants Day will be held on Sunday (December 18) at 10:30 am at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium. The theme of 'International Migrants Day 2022' has been set as - 'I will stay well, I will keep a good country, I will earn Bangladesh through legal channels'.

Like every year, CIP (NRB) honors and scholarships will be awarded to meritorious children of expatriates in this event. Apart from the main event, the day will be celebrated across the country with the support of district and upazila administration. Other parts of the celebration include the release of crores of paper in national dailies, the release of colorful souvenirs, and various media campaigns including print and electronics.

On the occasion of the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in a statement that the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment is working to formulate and reform the legal and policy framework to ensure transparency and accountability in immigration.

He said that various programs have been taken to create opportunities for the active participation of immigrant Bangladeshis in the development of the country. Our government is working on the target of sending an average of 1000 workers abroad per year from each upazila.

Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment. Ahmed Muniruch Salehin said in a press conference on Saturday (December 17) that on the occasion of the Great Victory Day, the theme of 'International Migrants Day 2022' is set in front of our commitment to foreign employment to build a hunger-poverty-free, self-confident and self-respecting 'Golden Bangladesh' of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream. It has been done - 'I will stay good, I will keep a good country, I will earn Bangladesh through expatriate income'.
