But so far no star athlete has come directly, a Cristiano Ronaldo fan named Mary Demiral has come forward. However, he is a Turkish national team player and was Ronaldo's teammate during his time at Juventus. He auctioned off an autographed CRSeven jersey in aid of earthquake victims.

Rescue teams from Turkey as well as other countries participated in the rescue operation. Many countries are sending aid to Turkey and Syria. There is little hope of rescuing anyone alive from under the earthquake-damaged building. However, the rescuers are rescuing some alive. The number of missing persons is still countless. One of them is former Chelsea footballer Christian Atsu. However, Turkish media reported that he was rescued alive from under the rubble of a building. The Hatayaspor winger was taken to the hospital with injuries.
But Turkish goalkeeper Ahmet Yup Turkaslan is not so lucky as Atsu. He lost his life in the terrible earthquake. Ahmet was the goalkeeper of Turkey's second division team Yeni Malatyaspor. He was missing after the earthquake. His body was later recovered from the rubble. The club confirmed the matter in a statement.
