67 expatriate CIP elected including successful businessman Delwar Hossain
The government is going to select 67 non-resident Bangladeshis as CIPs (Commercially Important Persons) for the year 2020 for making important contributions to the country's economy.
Among them, there are 57 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshis who remit maximum foreign exchange through legitimate channels in Bangladesh and 10 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshis who import Bangladeshi products abroad. At the end of the preliminary selection, the recommendations have been sent to the Committee on Selection of Commercially Important Persons (CIPs) of the Cabinet Division for recommendation. Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Ministry sources have confirmed this information.
Out of the 57 initially selected in the 'Non-Resident Bangladeshi Remitting Most Foreign Exchange through Legal Channels to Bangladesh' category, 24 are UAE expatriates.
They are Delwar Hossain, Mohammad Mahtabur Rahman, Aliur Rahman, Monir Hossain, Emadur Rahman, Baijun Nahar Chowdhury, Ijaz Hossain, Shahjahan Bablu, Abul Kalam, Mohammad Shafi, Yunus Mia Chowdhury, Mahbub Alam, Omar Farooq, Jasim Uddin, Farid Ahmed, Khorshed Alam, Jasim Uddin, Fakhrul Islam, Jasim Uddin, Anis Uddin, Abu Saeed Md. Haider, Morshedul Islam, Ripon Dutt, Jasmine Akhter, Delwar Hossain. After that maximum 13 people are expatriates of Oman. They are Kabir Ahmed, Taufiquzzaman, Rafiqul Alam, Uttam Kumar Saha, Tauhidul Alam, Azimul Haque, Jasim Uddin, Samsul Azim, Nurul Amin, Yasin Chowdhury, Morsheda Kabir, Uppal Saha, Abu Nashar. Apart from this, Thailand expatriate Kamruzzaman, Saudi Arabia expatriate Nasir Uddin, Japan expatriate Kazi Sarwar Habib, Sultan Mahmud, Anjan Kumar Das, Qatar expatriate Umar Farooq, Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Kuwait expatriate Monir Hossain, Italian expatriate Jahangir Kabir, Tahmina Akhter Mitu,
There are 10 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshi importers of Bangladeshi goods abroad. Among them Akhtar Hussain, expatriate of Malaysia, Ahidur Rahman, expatriate of United Arab Emirates Mozammel Haque, Salim, expatriate of Qatar Jalal Ahmed, expatriate of Thailand Riyaz Karim Khan, expatriate of Italy Nazrul Islam, expatriate of Maldives Sohail Rana, expatriate of America Marufa Ahmed, expatriate of Kuwait Abul Kashem.
Selected CIPs will enjoy various benefits up to two years from the date of issue of notification. During the period of CIP card, you will get an entry card to enter Bangladesh Secretariat and will be included as a member in the policy making committee appointed by the government.
Apart from this, CIPs will get priority in meetings with senior officials at home and abroad. On the occasion of national important days including Victory Day, Independence and National Day, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, February 1st, Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day, Bangladesh missions abroad will receive invitations to state functions. You will get tickets on priority basis for travel by road, air, river. Hotel-Restaurant will get service on priority basis. You will get access to the VIP lounge at the airport. You will get bed facility on priority basis in the hospital for treatment.
Apart from this, spouses, dependent sons and daughters will get cabin facilities on priority basis in government hospitals for their treatment. They will get priority in using CIP lounge at the airport and getting bookings in all residential hotels including star hotels. Its duration will be two years. Apart from this, the order also mentions that those who invest in Bangladesh will get the same facilities as foreign investors and their investments will be protected as per the provisions of the 'Foreign Private Investment (Promotion and Protection) Act, 1980'. If present in Bangladesh, CIPs will be invited to various national events and civic receptions organized by the City Corporation.
