Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the National Insurance Day-2023

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 'National Insurance Day-2023'. Today (Wednesday) the organization of this year's day was inaugurated in a function organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. He inaugurated the day virtually from the official residence Ganabhaban in the morning.

At this time, the Prime Minister urged the public and private companies to work together with the insurance development and regulatory authorities to digitize the insurance sector and bring its services to the people.

The theme of this year's Insurance Day was 'If we are protected by insurance, we will move forward together'. The day is being celebrated with the theme.

Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah, Secretary of the Financial Institutions Department, gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority Chairman Mohammad Zainul Bari and Bangladesh Insurance Association President Sheikh Kabir Hossain spoke in the event.

On the occasion of 'National Insurance Day-2023', an essay competition was organized among the students of schools, colleges and universities. Prizes are distributed among the first, second and third place winners in the Essay Competition. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the prizes to the winners.

A video documentary on the insurance sector was screened on the occasion.

• On March 1, 1960, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started working in the then Alfa Insurance Company. So the government has decided to observe 1st March every year as National Insurance Day.
  The government has upgraded the 'National Insurance Day' from 'B' category to 'A' category in memory of the great hero of the times, the great architect of independence, the greatest Bengali of all time, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
