Ekneke approves 10 projects of Tk 11 thousand crores

Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 11 projects including Sheikh Kamal IT Training. The total cost of implementing these has been estimated at 5 thousand 825 crore 74 lakh taka.

Out of this, 3 thousand 963 crore 38 lakh taka will be spent from the government fund, 1 thousand 220 crore 46 lakh taka from the implementing company and 641 crore 90 lakh taka from foreign loan cooperation. The approval was given in a meeting held at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sherbangla Nagar on Tuesday. Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina presided over the virtual meeting from Ganabhaban.

At the end of the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning briefed the journalists. Shamsul Alam. Planning Secretary Pradeep Ranjan Chakraborty, Member of Physical Infrastructure Department Mamun-al-Rashid, Secretary of Information and Management Department were present at this time. Shahnaz Arefin and Member of Planning Commission Mosammat Nasima Begum and others.

The approved projects in Ekne are – Renovation and Modernization Project of existing 33/11 KV Pole Mounted Substation at Bapbibo, estimated to cost Tk 679 crore 72 lakh. Implementation of modern distribution system in Nesco region, estimated at Tk. 241 crores. The cost of Installation of Single Point Mooring (SPM) with Double Pipe Line project has been estimated at Tk 556 crore 36 lakh. The cost of the Local Government Initiative on Climate Change (LOGIC) project has been estimated at 137 crore 35 lakh taka.

The cost of establishing Sheikh Jahurul Haque Palli Unnayan Academy, Jessore has been estimated at Tk 198 crore 95 lakh. The cost of new development and rehabilitation project of Ghorautra, Bolai-Shrigang river in Mithamain upazila and Dhanu river in Itna upazila, Namakura river and Dhaleswari river in Ashtagram upazila has been estimated at Tk 342 crore 26 lakh.

Ansar and village defense force armory (40 in the first phase) construction project cost has been estimated at 64 crore 68 lakh taka. Hili (Slandbandar)-Dugdugi-Ghoraghat National Highway under Dinajpur Road Division along with upgradation of existing narrow/worn culverts of 3 significant roads and construction of rigid pavement and construction project cost in Bazar section is estimated at Tk 463 crore 72 lakh. Sherpur (Kanasakhola)-Bhimganj-Narayankhola-Rambhadrapur-Paranganj-Mymensingh (Rahmatpur) road development project has been estimated at 1 thousand 842 crore 27 lakh taka. Establishment of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center (14 projects) has been estimated at Tk 1,114 crore 63 lakh. The cost of setting up 1 technical school and college in 100 upazilas has been estimated at Tk 184 crore 71 lakh.
