According to international news agencies, officials of the World Health Organization are saying that the death toll may rise. It can even exceed 20 to 30 thousand.
International aid efforts are being stepped up after two devastating earthquakes killed so many people in southern Turkey and northern Syria. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 2.5 million people across Turkey and Syria have been affected by the earthquake.
On the other hand, 1 thousand 932 people have been killed in the earthquake in the northern part of Syria so far. Besides, more than three and a half thousand people were injured in the country.

Many people are trapped under these buildings. Rescuers and common people are trying to save them. However, severe cold, snowfall and rain have become a major obstacle in the rescue work.
