The Prime Minister mourns the death of a bus overturned in Saudi Arabia
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of 24 people in a terrible road accident in Saudi Arabia. In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for the bereaved souls of the deceased and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister directed the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia to take all measures to treat the injured Bangladeshis in the accident.
Earlier, on March 27, 24 people including 14 Bangladeshis died in a terrible bus accident in Saudi Arabia's Asir province. The condition of 17 injured Bangladeshis is also serious.
It is learned that the bus carrying Umrah passengers lost control and collided with a bridge and overturned and caught fire. There were 47 passengers in the bus. 35 of them were Bangladeshi citizens. The deceased were going to Makkah to perform Umrah.
The deceased Bangladeshi is Noakhali's Senbagh Md. Shahidul Islam son of Shariat Ullah, Mamun Mia son of Abdul Awal of Comilla, Mohammad Helal of Noakhali, Sabuj Hossain of Laxmipur, Russell Molla of Muradnagar of Comilla, Maheshkhali of Cox's Bazar. Asif, son of Tongir Abdul Latif of Gazipur. Imam Hossain Roni, Ruk Mia son of Kalu Mia of Chandpur, Sifat Ullah of Maheshkhali in Cox's Bazar, Ghiyas Hamid of Devidwar in Comilla, Mohammad Nazmul son of Mia of Kawsar of Jessore, Roni son of Iskandar of Jessore, Mohammad Hossain of Cox's Bazar and Tushar Majumdar of Chandpur.
The injured Bangladeshis are Salahuddin, Al Amin, Minhaj, Jewel, Afridi Molla, Md. Riaz, Abdul Hai, Rana, Md. Salim, Delwar Hossain, Hossain Ali, Quddus, Mohammad Shahabuddin, Yar Hossain, Md. Zahidul Islam, Mizanur Rahman, Md. Musharraf Hossain.
