16 districts are experiencing severe heat waves, while the rest are experiencing mild to moderate heat waves
Severe heat wave (40 degree to 41.9 degree Celsius) is prevailing over 16 districts of the country and mild to moderate heat wave (36 degree to 39.9 degree Celsius) is prevailing in remaining districts and may continue. Temperatures across the country remain unchanged today but may drop after three days.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at Chuadanga yesterday at 41.7 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, Mongla recorded 41.2, Satkhira and Faridpur 41.1, Jessore and Ishwardi 40.8, Rajshahi 40.6, Khulna and Kumarkhali 40.5, Dhaka 40.2, Patuakhali 40.0 degrees Celsius.

According to the forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am, severe heat wave (40 degrees to 41.9 degrees Celsius) is flowing over Dhaka, Faridpur, Manikganj, Rajshahi, Pabna and Patuakhali districts including Khulna division (10 districts). Also, a mild to moderate (36 degree to 39.9 degree Celsius) heat wave is prevailing over the rest of the country and may persist.
The forecast also said that the weather will remain dry over the country with temporary partly cloudy skies. Also, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Apart from this, the day temperature may decrease after the next three days.
