University student hacked and robbed of mobile phone in Badda
A student of East-West University in Badda, the capital, was hacked by the robbers and fled with her mobile phone.
The incident took place in Aftab Nagar's B-Block around 10:30 pm on Sunday (April 2). The girl was rescued and admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital in the capital. The student's name is Apurna Akhter Iti. He is a student of Pharmacy Department of East-West University.
Tanveer Kayes, a classmate of the victim girl said, Iti left the gym at night for Basar (Royal's Hostel). At this time 3-4 robbers blocked the way and demanded mobile, money and bags. If Eti did not want to give them, there was a fight between them. At one stage, the robbers cut Elopatari with chapati and seriously injured them and ran away with everything.
Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said that the girl returned home after receiving treatment at the hospital. We are looking into who or what happened in the campus-adjacent area. We have several teams working on this. Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.
